We Support our Nations First Responders
Operation Life Support (OLS) assists those who protect our nation and insure our freedom. These first responders deal with traumatic crisis events on a regular basis. Whether it’s a fireman seeing a child die, a soldier dying in the arms of another soldier, police and military being called to a natural disaster – OLS is there to provide pre-incident training and post-incident intervention programs.
Our Mission
To assist those who protect our nation and insure our freedom by providing pre-incident training and post-incident intervention programs. Through education and peer support we are able to improve their ability to overcome the emotional and life threatening situations that they face each day.
Operation Life Support is an community outreach organization that works directly with military and other first responder communities providing crisis training, peer support and individual crisis intervention. To meet this goal we utilize a growing network of providers that possess the training, skills and life experience necessary to assist departments, personnel and their families through difficult situations. These traumatic events are common occurrences in the life of a first responder and the duties that they fulfill as they serve the people of their community and their nation.
Those involved in this effort are not only passionate about this work, but they are also “mission-minded” individuals who are committed to those whom they serve. One of our network members states: “Each of us have been in the trenches and had to deal with the emotional fall-out that occurs after an event. Whether it is a police shooting, a firefighter seeing a child die in a fire, or a combat soldier watching his buddy die in his arms, we have all gone through crisis events that disturb the very foundations of our being. Because we have endured and overcome these difficult times, we are uniquely qualified to assist those in need.”
The varied backgrounds of our personnel and the training and endorsements they have received from various organizations place them in a category of providers that is extremely effective in the most difficult environments. This effective effort is needed more today than ever before as we watch our soldiers return from war and our police officers face a more volatile society. In 2010 our Military has voiced a huge concern over the epidemic of suicides in its ranks. As of September 2011 our police officer deaths related to shooting events have increased 33% over the same period registered in 2010. In addition, the 2010 figures had already seen an increase of 43% over 2009 numbers.
Please help us provide assistance to these selfless warriors and their families.
Our Top Priorities
Operation Life Support is comprised of a network of providers that have “walked in the boots” of those they serve. These are former combat veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters and other first responders who have lived through the difficult times associated with these professions. Our mission is to assist those who protect our nation and insure our freedom by providing pre-incident training and post-incident intervention programs. Through education and peer support we are able to improve their ability to overcome the emotional and life threatening situations that they face each day. By taking this approach, we utilize the real-life experience of former responders and operators to develop programs and support that provide real-life assistance in crisis situations.
Our network of providers offer their services at no charge to the responders and families in need. We meet them right where they are in any given situation to provide the support and assistance that is necessary in a timely and professional manner.
This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
